Gold Surface Applications
A Technology Review
This is a report on a number of methods in use for applying gold to sliver, copper and other metals. Primarily non-chemical methods have been emphasized as have controlled fusion applications of gold. It describes fusion applications (gold painting), double, Keum-boo, depletion gilding (tumbaga, guanin), inlay and overlay procedures and has a discussion of fire gilding. Control factors for free compositional choices are defined and demonstrated. The gold application types have been divided into three main groups: Mechanical, Diffusion/Fusion and Chemical.
Format: Softcover. Dimensions: 8.5" x 11" Pages: 43 Illustrations: 27
